Aug. 13--BEIRUT -- Egyptian singer Tamer Hosni has canceled his concert in Beirut, sources close to the organizers told The Daily Star Tuesday.
Hosni and his promoters decided to cancel the Aug. 23 concert, organized as part of Beirut Holidays 2014, "because he is uncomfortable performing in Lebanon and the whole region," the sources said.
Despite Hosni's cancellation, concerts for Lebanese singer Elissa and French singer Garu will go on as scheduled at the Beirut Waterfront, the sources said.
An-Nahar newspaper said the Egyptian performer's concert was called off due to the security situation in Lebanon, which in turn affected ticket sales.
