Oman : HILL INTERNATIONAL secures contract to oversee $1.1bn OMAN road project

The global construction risk management firm, Hill International, has received a contract from the Omani Government to manage a $1.1 billion road project.

The company has been appointed by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications to provide project management services for the construction of Sections 1 and 2 of the Bidbid Sur Road in Oman, under a three-year contract which has an estimated value to Hill of approximately OR1.5 million ($4 million).

The project comprises of nine interchanges, two underpasses, two overpasses, associated retaining wall structures and around 171 reinforced concrete culverts. The 247km, six-lane highway will be connecting the cities of Bidbid and Sur.

Mohammed Al Rais, senior vice president and managing director (Middle East) for Hill's Project Management Group said, We are honoured to be part of this major infrastructure project. The positive impact of the highway on commerce and tourism will benefit all of Oman.
