Exploring Heritage Herbs at Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site Aug. 23

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., Aug. 11 -- The Missouri Department of Natural Resources issued the following news release:

Guests at Mark Twain Birthplace State Historic Site can attend a program about heritage herbs on Saturday, Aug. 23. Sponsored by Missouri State Parks, the event will begin at 2 p.m.

Featured speaker Deborah Lee will discuss what herbs our ancestors used as well as when, what and how they prepared them. Lee has been fascinated with herbs since college. She has taught medicinal herb classes and worked with clients for more than 30 years. She is the owner of Four Winds Farm near Quincy, IL.
