Russia remains a major investment partner of Tajikistan for several years with a total volume of investments accumulated of $1.6 billion, reported the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe.

Since 12 November 2013, the total income shortfalls of the federal budget of Russia due to supplies of oil products on a duty-free basis to Tajikistan amounted to about $300 million.

"Every year, labor migrants from Tajikistan working in Russia carry out money transfers which provides a stabilizing effect on the socio-economic situation in the country.
