The US Department of Commerce has recently implemented a new policy regarding Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) for all information technology hardware and software. They now require that contracts, such as the one between NOAA and Math Works, Inc., include special language regarding SCRM requirements. They also require that companies submit certain information about their products in order for the government to conduct a risk assessment.
