BRIEF: Calaveras Big Trees State Park's annual Family Day event is Saturday

Aug. 11--ARNOLD -- Calaveras Big Trees State Park will hold its annual Family Day event on Saturday.

Featured activities include live birds of prey, reptiles from all over California, a meet the ranger talk, Smokey Bear, cocked hat bowling, carriage rides (cost is $3) and live music.

Food sales include a barbecue, ice cream, popcorn and baked goods.

Calaveras Big Trees features the northernmost giant Sequoia trees in the state and is off Highway 4 just past Arnold.

The park entrance fee is $10 per car.
