The Guide: music: BOOKING NOW

August 9, 2014

This week's Booking Now starts off on an uncustomarily joyous note with the news that musician/actor/muse Marianne Faithfull (pictured) is celebrating "50 years in music" with a world tour, which includes a London date (29 Nov, Royal Festival Hall, SE1, mariannefaithfull.org.uk). Hear her breeze through the hits plus stuff from her new one Give My Love To London, which is apt. . .

Roni Size is another "established" artist who's back out on the road this year. Mr Size reunites with Reprazent for three live dates (11 Oct to 6 Dec, tour starts Warehouse Project, Manchester, ronisize.net) to promo the group's first new material since 2001. . . Speaking of groups that were big in the early 00s, And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead bring their slightly proggy rock to these shores with a four-date jaunt this winter (14-17 Nov, tour starts The Art School, Glasgow, trailofdead.com). . . Yet more decade-old nostalgia now, as Interpol have added another date at the Roundhouse (7 Feb) and play three nights at Dublin'sOlympia (10-12 Feb, gigsandtours.com) . . . Finally, Charli XCX is doing a one-off in the capital (30 Oct, Heaven, WC2, ticketmaster.co.uk).
