July 31--You like listening to live music. You want to help the victims of the recent wildfires rebuild their lives. You can do both this weekend.

The Riverside Pub at Columbia Valley Brewery in Wenatchee and its neighbor Sticks House of Cigars will play host to nearly 20 local bands Friday for a concert benefitting victims of the Carlton Complex Fire.

Donations will go to your choice of two charities: the Red Cross or the Community Foundation of North Central Washington.

Local favorites Eden Moody, The Skiffs, JunkBelly, Velvet Elvis and many, many more will take to one of four indoor and outdoor stages tomorrow from 2:30 to 9 p.m. The Brewery shows are for all ages.

The Sticks shows are for folks 21 and over. Event organizer Troy Lindsey said his goal is to raise $5,000 from donations, which Peoples Bank has agreed to match. Donations of cash and checks are preferred.

The Buzz Inn in East Wenatchee will match up to $1,000 in donations for fire victims during a benefit show by The Crane Band, Saturday from 8 to 11 p.m. The show is by donation only.

Later Saturday, there's a charitable option for those of you whose musical tastes are more Metallica than mainstream. The Clearwater Steakhouse in East Wenatchee is hosting a metal show headlined by Metallica tribute band Blistered Earth and featuring local groups Hate Team and Ground Zero. The show starts at 9 p.m., costs $5, and is for the 21-and-over set. All proceeds will go to fire victims through the Give Naked organization.

On Sunday, Michael Carlos, the Chance Brothers, JP Knox and others will perform from 1 to 5 p.m. at Pybus Public Market during the Raise the Barn NCW fundraising event. The market event is family-friendly and student performers will share the stage with the local pros. The day will also include an informational update from Okanogan County Sheriff Frank Rogers. And Lamborghini rides. Because, why not? Attendees will be invited to donate to or volunteer for the Apple Valley Chapter of the Red Cross, the Community Foundation, or the Salvation Army.
