Denmark Signs Deal to Fund Dispensaries

THE Danish government will spend Sh2.2 billion grant in county governments for dispensaries and health centres. Ambassador Geert Andersen visited Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu in his office yesterday.

Andersen said the Danish government has been in a partnership with the World Bank to fund hospitals since 2007, through the Ministry of Helath. Beginning this month, the Danish will channel funds to counties directly.

Ministry of Health officials and health experts from various counties are expected to launch the new funding system next month in Laikipia county. The funding is meant for paying casuals and power and water bills.
