Aug. 01--Residents in the West Central Area School District will have an opportunity to vote in November to determine if the current operating levy will be replaced and if general obligation bonds will be issued to pay for facility improvements, the Grant County Herald reported.
The first question will ask if the current operating levy should be revoked and replaced with a levy for $1,851 per pupil. In theory, this would allow the school to continue with its current programing while keeping funds balanced until 2019.
The second question will ask for the issuance of general obligation bonds not to exceed $5 million for five years. The funds will help pay for improvements on the district's three facilities. The levy replacement would have to pass in order for the bond portion to pass because without the new levy, WCA would not be able to continue to operate out of all three facilities.
