Bicentennial Park shows announced for August in downtown New Albany

July 31--NEW ALBANY -- Coralee and the Townies will perform tonight during New Albany Bicentennial Park Summer Concert Series, as the city announced the lineup for August on Thursday.

Coralee and the Townies hail from Lexington, Ky., and define their music as "Honky Tonk Soul". Learn more about the band at coraleeandthetownies.bandcamp.com.

All music begins at 6 p.m. at the park at Pear and Spring streets.

Aug. 8

Two bands are slated to perform Aug. 8, with the first being Humming House. The band just recorded its second album with Grammy Award-winning producers Vance Powell and Mitch Dane.

Local musician Nick Dittmeier of Southern Indiana will also play at Bicentennial Park on Aug. 8. His new album, titled "Light of Day," was released this year. More information can be found at nickdittmeier.com.

Aug. 15

The cover band Same As It Ever Was of Knoxville, Tenn., will perform in New AlbanyAug. 15.

The band specializes in covers of The Talking Heads' songs, and have been performing together since 2004.

Aug. 22

Bookshelf will play the final scheduled show at Bicentennial Park in August.

The band's debut EP, "Stranger to Be," was released in February. The group formed in 2012.

All the shows are free and music begins at 6 p.m. Beer and wine will be sold by local vendors.
