United States : COLUMBIA CAPITAL plans $425 million fund in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Columbia Capital is projecting for a $425 million fund for IT Startup Investment, particularly in infrastructure, wireless spectrum and other related fields.

It has already endowed in Millennial Media, Broadsoft, Virtustream and Summit IG. It headed a $23 million round of funding for Seattle-based 2nd Watch in November.

It can even occasionally constructs a company from scratch to satisfy some IT need, such as Cloud Sherpas that offers enterprise cloud-based services.

The funds would be utilized for various related areas, comprising cyber security and a relatively recent expansion into media and The new fund will be the company's sixth.

Presently, it is seeking for places to endow $441 million it raised for its last fund, which is a total of about $2.5 billion under management for the company as a whole.
