Cabarrus Real Estate and Personal Property Tax Bills Mail July 18

July 8, 2014

CONCORD, N.C., July 8 -- Cabarrus County issued the following news release:

Cabarrus County real estate and personal property tax bills will mail to residents on Friday, July 18. Property tax bills are due on September 1 and are classified as past due if not paid before January 6, 2015.

Residents also have the option of viewing their property tax bills online at the Cabarrus County website, http://bit.ly/CabarrusTaxInq.

New this year, Harrisburg residents will receive one tax bill for both Town of Harrisburg and Cabarrus County property taxes. The transition to a single tax bill processed by Cabarrus County is more cost-effective for the Town of Harrisburg while allowing residents to continue to make payments online. With the new system, taxpayers will now be able to view their consolidated tax bill online through the bill inquiry link on the County website.

Once a tax bill is past due, it is subject to collection actions and/or tax foreclosure. To alleviate the financial burden of paying annual real estate or personal property tax at one time, the County's tax collections department will work with taxpayers throughout the year on payment plans that pay the bill in full by the delinquent date. It is the responsibility of the taxpayer to contact the collections office to request the payment plan option upon receipt of their annual tax bill.

Cabarrus County real estate and personal property tax can be paid online or over the phone using a credit card or debit card, mailed in with payment using the envelope and coupon provided with the bills, or in person at the Cabarrus County Government Center (65 Church St. SE, Concord) Mondays-Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For questions regarding real estate and personal property tax, call the Cabarrus County Tax Assessor at 704-920-2166 or email taxinfo@cabarruscounty.us.
