July 09--Bellingham's' Nearly Stellar theater company presents Mark Landon Smith's "An Evening of Culture: Faith County II," continuing the saga first presented in the company's production of "Faith County" in 2009.
Set in fictional Mineola County once again, the community theater is producing "Romeo and Juliet." Even though cast members for the Shakespearean tragedy don't have their lines memorized, the set isn't finished, and a dog keeps barking offstage, they're going to give it a go.
Mildred Carson (who doesn't look 50!) portrays Juliet, and there's great chemistry between her and Bubba Bedford, who is cast as Romeo.
"Faith County II" is performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday and SaturdayJuly 11-12, continuing July 18-19, at The Rome Grange, 2821 Mount Baker Highway.
Tickets, $12 adults, $10 for people 60 and older, and $8 kids younger than 10, are available at the door. Details: 360-927-0378.
