Hitron Technologies Americas, a global leader of residential and business DOCSIS networking devices, today launches the CGMN, an industry first DOCSIS 3.0 24 x 8 Wireless Application Gateway with integrated MoCA 2.0 networking technology.
Delivering near 1Gbps data service to premises over existing cable and distributing in premise using Dual-Band 802.11n/802.11ac WiFi and MoCA 2.0 integrated networking technology, the CGMN brings best-in-class home entertainment networking to all MSO subscribers. With integrated Wi-Fi 3×3 802.11n/802.11ac MIMO Dual Band Concurrent radio that delivers powerful range at speeds of up to 450+1300 Mbps and MoCA 2.0 integrated networking technology that ensures greater than 400Mbps over in-home coax, the CGMN s Wi-Fi performance consistently meets or exceeds that of equivalent retail routers according to independent market testing. Built upon the Puma 6MG DOCSIS chipset, the CGMN combines high-speed data transfer with twenty-four bonded downstream channels, eight upstream channels and an integrated 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch. In addition to the DOCSIS capability, the CGNM incorporates a 600MHz ARM core processor for routing plus a 1.2GHz core for WiFi and feature offload to enhance WiFi performance. The CGNM has been certified interoperable with CableLabs DOCSIS standard in Certification Wave 106.

The CGMN delivers complete support for IPv4 and IPv6 routing features, firewall with SPI and support for DSLite as well as native IPv6 for differing IPv6 deployment and transition strategies. Pre-enabled Wi-Fi security via Wi-Fi Protected Setup and web-based management interface also enhance the user experience. TR-69 management is also provided for all Wi-Fi, Routing, Parental Control, and MoCA features Service providers will also be able to take advantage of the integrated Spectrum Analysis Application to view cable-plant RF interference and WiFi management applications to monitor WiFi client performance and site survey graphical depiction.
