Tajikistan, Switzerland discuss expansion of cooperation in investments, finances

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Swiss Federal Councillor Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation, reports the Tajik president's press service.

"The sides discussed strengthening of ties in trade, investments, finances, economy," the press service said.

Tajikistan sees Switzerland one of its major partners in Europe and is interested in development of relations with this country, President Rahmon stressed.

Switzerland provided assistance to implementation of dozens of projects in Tajikistan. Ten projects valued at $67 million are implemented in Tajikistan now.

Bilateral trade grew 4.3 times for 5 months of 2014 compared to the same period of the previous year and totaled $141 million.
