BRIEF: Arts Splash starts in High Point

July 08--The High Point Arts Council's annual outdoor concert series Arts Splash will begin July 13.

The free concerts are from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each Sunday through Aug. 17 and will include beach, bluegrass, folk, country, jazz, R&B, swing and more.

The schedule includes:

--July 13: Special Occasion Band (beach) at Mendenhall Transportation Terminal, 220 E. Commerce Avenue, High Point.

--July 20: Lacy Green (country) at High Point University, Roberts Hall, 833 Montlieu Ave., High Point.

--July 27: Kings of Swing (swing) at Oak Hollow Festival Park, 1841 Eastchester Drive, High Point.

--Aug. 3: Mipso (bluegrass, folk) at High Point Museum & Historical Park, 1859 E. Lexington Avenue, High Point.

--Aug. 10: Freeport (jazz) at High Point City Lake Park, 602 W. Main Street, Jamestown.

--Aug. 17: EnVision (R&B, Motown) at Washington Terrace Park, 101 Gordon St., High Point.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinners. No alcohol.
