XLB, UXI: Big ETF Outflows

Looking at units outstanding versus one week prior within the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the biggest outflow was seen in the Materials Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLB), where 7,650,000 units were destroyed, or a 6.9% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XLB, in morning trading today Monsanto (MON) is down about 0.5%, and Dow Chemical Company (DOW) is lower by about 0.9%.

And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the biggest outflow was the Proshares Ultra Industrials (UXI), which lost 75,000 of its units, representing a 20.0% decline in outstanding units compared to the week prior. Among the largest underlying components of UXI, in morning trading today 3M Company (MMM) is off about 0.3%, and ABM Industries (ABM) is lower by about 1.7%.
