July 4, 2014

Centre of Excellence in Arts and Design (CEAD), Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro administration in cooperation with anti encroachment force evacuated its land from land grabbers near East (old) tool plaza, Jamshoro. Anti encroachment force along with CEAD officers went to hold talks with grabbers but they denied to talk and came in contradiction with anti encroachment officers. After the denial of land grabbers anti encroachment force removed all illegal shops and cleared the land.

The land grabbers had occupied the land of CEAD for last many years but despite of issuing number of official warnings to them they not only ignored but also forcefully established illegal shops, cabins and increased their grabbing activity in the area. After sending letters of help to anti encroachment force interrupted in the issue and in the leadership of Tarique Rind and Afzal Shah came into action after warning again and again. The Director CEAD, MUET, Dr. Bhai Khan Shar said educational institutions are sacred places for any nation and it is shameful that some people wanted to grab the land of those. He said that land mafia had created insecurity for the students from around the country studying at CEAD.

We warned them continuously to vacate the land but they paid no heed towards our warnings, finally anti encroachment force played their part and evacuated the land from grabbers after identifying that as a property of CEAD. We need permanent protection from police force and district government in this regard as the grabbers may be stopped to do such illegal act again, Dr. Shar said.
