July 07--VIRGINIA BEACH -- The Wildlife Center of Virginia on Tuesday will release a 1-year-old bald eagle it rehabilitated after finding it in Sandbridge two months ago, thin, dehydrated and unable to fly.

The 11 a.m. release is open to the public, and will be near the Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center at 717 General Booth Blvd. The center asked attendees to RSVP to ksluiter@wildlifecenter.org and gather in the aquarium's east parking lot.

The center also is treating another seven bald eagles, among the 2,600 animals it cares for each year, it said in a news release. -- The Pilot
