BRIEF: Harmony Studios adds voice instructor

July 07--Harmony Studios in Fergus Falls has welcomed a new voice instructor.

Zhanna Ricks, a private music teacher from Belarus, has joined the team. At a young age, she began her musical training with piano and voice lessons. She earned her Bachelor's of Music in Music Education at Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, and Master's Degree of Music Voice Performance at North Dakota State University.

Ricks has 20 years of experience working as a teacher of piano, voice, and music theory. Many of her students became winners of international festivals and competitions. As a teaching assistant in the music department at NDSU, she also taught Applied Voice for undergraduate students. Ricks is an opera singer, having a coloratura soprano voice. She has had roles such as Queen of the Night from Mozart's "The Magic Flute" and Nella from Puccini's "Gianni Schicci."

Ricks is a winner of an Aria competition in 2013 at North Dakota State University, and received first place in the Upper Graduate Division at the North Dakota National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition.
