Good2Go Auto Insurance to Introduce Cell Phone Safety Discount in Oregon

July 7, 2014

Good2Go Auto Insurance reported that its Cell Phone Safety Discount is now available in Oregon.

In its release on June 25, the Company said that customers will receive 5 percent off bodily injury, property damage, and collision coverage per vehicle when they install a device that blocks distracting cell phone functions such as text messaging, email, and Internet browsing.

Eligible drivers can receive this discount by installing a qualifying text blocking device in their vehicle and providing a copy of the receipt as proof of purchase via email, fax, or postal service.

On Jan. 1, Oregon passed a law that increases mobile device offenses from a Class D to a Class C violation and carries higher fines up to $500. Police enforcement has been strict with cell phone convictions rising from 40 in 2008 to 22,892 in 2012.
