Halchak's awards were for best poster design, created for Badlees album "Epiphones and Empty Rooms," and best T-shirt design, again created for the Badlees.
"I was pretty excited to just get nominated and very happy when I won," said Halchak, a graphic designer and illustrator with 10 years experience. Artistically, he finds inspiration in old folk art and he prefers using negative space in a lot of his illustrations.
He has also been designing T-shirts that will be featured in scenes of an upcoming movie, "Trust Me."
