The Guide: music: BOOKING NOW

July 5, 2014

Psych, hip-hop and R&B do battle in this week's needlessly combative Booking Now. First up is former Guide cover star Future (pictured), who returns to the UK for a proper tour after his debut UK show in a tiny Dalston sweatbox (2-5 Nov, tour starts Birmingham Institute, gigsandtours.com) . . . Carrying on the theme of much-lauded US artists returning to blighty, R&B starlet Tinashe follows up the hype awarded to her Black Water mixtape with a one-off London show (26 Aug, XOYO, EC1, gigsandtours.com) . . .

The Liverpool Psych festival adds to its growing reputation by inviting

Allah-Las, Christian Bland & The Revelators and Grumbling Fur to its number (26 & 27 Sep, Camp And Furnace, and The Blade Factory, liverpoolpsychfest.com) . . . Similarly psych offerings come from Moon Duo, who'll be promoting their Live In Ravenna 12-inch at a string of mid-sized venues, finishing with a show at the Queen Elizabeth Hall (tour begins, Trades Club, Hebden Bridge, 1-19 Sep, moonduo.org) . . . Finally, Underworld will also be at the Southbank for the 20th anniversary of Dubnobasswithmyheadman (11 Oct, Royal Festival Hall, SE1, underworldive.com).
