Tehran to host Royanint'l summer school

The Fifth Royan International Summer School on Developmental Biology and Stem Cells for Regenerative Medicine will be held in Tehran from

August 2-7.

Royan Institute will also host distinguished experts from Germany, Belgium and Spain.

The main topics will revolve around programming of induced pluripotent stem cells, stem cell systems and regeneration in planaria, cancer stem cells, cloning, genetics and embryology.

The fourth edition held in August 2013 attracted more than 270 PhD, postgraduate, graduate and undergraduate students from around the world.

A number of Royan researchers and three international professors from Britain, Italy and Austria attended the event.

Stem Cell Technology Research Center will hold a summer school on stem cells, miRNA and tissue engineering from August 20-24.

Workshops will also be held at the school. Topics of the workshops are as follows:

1. Isolation and culture of embryonic stem cells

2. Lentiviral gene packaging and transduction of embryonic stem cells

3. Stem cell gene transfer by microinjection method

4. Nanostructure scaffold preparation and stem cell culture

5. Scaffold transplantation to laboratory mouse .
