July 05--DAVIDSVILLE -- An outdoor concert can be the perfect way to spend a summer evening.

The Free Gospel Music Fest will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m.Aug. 2 at Davidsville Community Church, 197 Pender Road, Davidsville.

Live music will be provided by Tory Keefer of Harrisburg, Precious Day from Altoona, and Mark Connors and Linda Golden, both from the local area.

Precious Day, a husband and wife duo from Altoona, perform contemporary Christian music.

Dave Nagle plays acoustic and electric guitar, and Cathy Nagle plays keyboard and sings lead vocals.

Music will be outdoors, weather permitting, with a tent covering, and refreshments will be available.

Food donations for Food to Feed the Hungry will be collected for area food banks.

This is not the first event the church has held to reach out to the community.

The first outreach was a free Kids Day on June 14 that was attended by 200 local children.

A basket party is held each November. Last year's proceeds were used to give needy families food gift cards and gift cards to provide help for Christmas.

A Soup Cook-off Contest involving 20 local churches is being considered for October.
