Mar-end Outstanding External Debts to CNY5.4trn

BEIJING, July 4, SinoCast -- China's outstanding external debts totaled CNY 5.4376 billion or USD 883.867 billion (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) as of the end of March 2014, including registered outstanding external debts of CNY 3.4751 trillion or USD 564.867 billion and outstanding inter-enterprise trade credit of CNY 1.9625 trillion or USD 319 billion, according to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.

USD-denominated debts accounted for 81.32% of registered outstanding external debts; JPY- and Euro-denominated debts accounted for 4.46% and 5.26%; debts denominated in currencies with special drawing rights, USD and other currencies accounted for 8.96%.

Among registered outstanding external debts, outstanding international business loans arrived at CNY 3.1069 trillion or USD 505.023 billion, accounting for 89.41%; outstanding loans to foreign governments and international financial organizations hit CNY 368.2 billion or USD 59.844 billion, accounting for 10.59%.
