Citizens Medical Center Selects M*Modal to Enhance Clinical Documentation and Boost Productivity With Speech Recognition Technology and Transcription Services

With this agreement, M*Modal will be the exclusive provider of transcription services to Citizens Medical, a 334-bed acute care hospital based in Victoria, Texas. In addition, Citizens will use M*Modal Fluency Direct™ software to speech-enable its MEDITECH EHR systems. M*Modal Fluency Direct is designed from the ground up to specifically recognize healthcare terminology, and leverages cloud computing to let physicians access their trained voice profile from mobile devices and across hospital systems.

"Quality patient care is incredibly important to our mission at Citizens, and we sought a clinical documentation platform with the tools to create accurate, high-quality patient records," said Kimberly Rollins, HIM Direct at Citizens Medical Center. "M*Modal's transcription services and front-end speech technology give our physicians and staff flexible workflow options that allow them to stay productive and focus on their patients."

With M*Modal Fluency Direct, physicians can quickly and easily create and edit clinical data directly within EHR system templates promoting improved adoption. Using conversational documentation, M*Modal's technology enables physicians to generate truly useable information that drives actions within an EMR, ensuring better productivity and patient outcomes.

"M*Modal delivers the systems and services to capture the patient's story from either dictation or front-end speech," said Duncan James, CEO of M*Modal. "M*Modal's solutions give Citizens a strong platform for building dynamic, high-quality patient records and getting the most out of their EMR system investment."

M*Modal's solutions leverage a single, cloud-based architecture to capture clinical documentation and turn it into unstructured text and structured data that can be shared across applications and EHR systems. M*Modal Fluency products let physicians and healthcare providers access trained voice profiles and clinical information across any application. M*Modal solutions integrate within clinical workflows to provide computer-assisted physician documentation (CAPD) support, such as real-time feedback on missing information, helping to increase patient safety and streamline the reporting process.
