July 04--CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS -- Austin'sFourth of July fireworks show and concert is going on as scheduled for now, though organizers with the Austin Symphony Orchestra and Circuit of the Americas said they are watching the weather closely.

The show is happening this year at the Southeast Austin race track, because renovations have closed Auditorium Shores along Lady Bird Lake. The event is scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m. with a symphony performance, followed at 9:30 p.m. by fireworks.

The thunderstorms moving into the region will probably pass north of the track, though light showers are possible, according to the track's official Twitter feed.

"We will make any necessary adjustments as the concert time draws near," symphony spokesman Jason Nicholson said.

The American-Statesman will provide additional updates as they become available.
