NOW IT

MAKES SENSE

Were you in the crowd for Lionel Richie'sJune 11 Red Rocks show? If so, you might be on national TV today.

Catch "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular," airing from 7 to 9 p.m. today on NBC. Richie will be featured and his performance is from the Red Rocks concert.

In case you wondered why he said, "Happy birthday, America," during that show, now you know.

LONG-DISTANCE DEDICATION

Raise a sparkler today to the recently departed Casey Kasem. "American Top 40" debuted July 4, 1970, on seven radio stations.

Kasem turned the show into an international hit and hosted until 1988, then again from 1998 to 2004. His final No. 1: "Hey Ya" by Outkast.
