Sharp remains in red in April-June with net loss of 1.79 bil. yen

Sharp Corp. reported Friday a group net loss of 1.79 billion yen in the April to June quarter, remaining in the red for the fourth year.

The electronics maker posted a consolidated operating profit of 4.67 billion yen for the quarter, up 55.0 percent from a year before on sales of 619.73 billion yen, up 1.9 percent.

For the full business year ending next March, Sharp maintained its group earnings projections, expecting a consolidated net profit of 30 billion yen, up 159.5 percent from the previous year, and operating profit of 100 billion yen, down 7.9 percent, on sales of 3 trillion yen, up 2.5 percent.
