BRIEF: Fine-art show accepting works

Aug. 01--The Laguna Beach Arts Commission is accepting submissions to the annual Juried Fine Art Exhibition at City Hall, according to the city's website.

The competition involving two-dimensional works is open to Orange County artists at least 18 years old. The juror will be Laguna College of Art + Design President Jonathan Burke.

The first-place winner will earn $1,000. Applications must be made online with a non-refundable entry fee of $25. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 8. Visit the city's website at http://www.lagunabeachcity.net for complete contest details.

Arts Directory information

The Cultural Arts Department is accepting artist information for inclusion in the city's Arts Directory.

The online directory is free and lists visual and performing artists living, working or exhibiting in Laguna Beach.

Artists can include their information through Sept. 12 by going to the city's website, http://www.lagunabeachcity.net.
