THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Potential sources who believe they can provide the services listed above are invited to submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Economic Research Service (ERS), intends to award a sole source contract to Proworks Corporation, for assistance in overall project management as well as development assistance in the upgrade in order to improve the performance, reliability, usability, and utility of the system-for external users and internally for staff. design and implementation of the Science DMZ Network.

Proworks Corporation previously provided consulting services to create a design and implementation plan.

The Economic Research Service (ERS) is a Principal Federal Statistical Agency. It is one of four agencies in the Research, Education, and Economics Mission Area of the U.S.

Department of Agriculture (USDA). The agency is the main source of economic information from USDA. Its mission is to inform and enhance public and private decision-making on economic and policy issues related to agriculture, food, natural resources, and rural development. To accomplish this mission, ERS economists and social scientists develop and disseminate economic, social scientific, and statistical information to the public. The program encompasses research; analyses of food and commodity markets; policy studies;development of estimates, forecasts, and other economic and statistical indicators; and development of data sets compiled from diverse sources.
