Reports Summarize Optical Coherence Tomography Study Results from Cleveland Clinic (Optical coherence tomography imaging of ocular and periocular tumours)

By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Health & Medicine Week -- Current study results on Optical Coherence Tomography have been published. According to news originating from Cleveland, Ohio, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "Optical coherence tomography (OCT) has become pivotal in the practice of ophthalmology."

Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from Cleveland Clinic, "Similar to other ophthalmic subspecialties, ophthalmic oncology has also incorporated OCT into practice. Anterior segment OCT (AS-OCT), ultra-high resolution OCT (UHR-OCT), spectral domain OCT (SD-OCT) and enhanced depth imaging OCT (EDI-OCT), have all been described to be helpful in the diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring response of ocular and periocular tumours."

According to the news editors, the research concluded: "Herein we discuss the role of OCT including the advantages and limitations of its use in the setting of common intraocular and adnexal tumours."
