The "Building the Next Big App" panel comprises industry experts and analysts from the fields of open source, business intelligence, customer experience, and consumer brand marketing. Stephen O Grady (sogrady) brings to the panel discussion a deep dedication to developers and development issues. He is Principal Analyst and Co-Founder of RedMonk, the leading developer-focused industry analyst firm, and author of The New Kingmakers. Mike Milinkovich (mmilinko) brings a deep understanding of the open source software movement to the panel discussion. A globally recognized thought leader in open source, Milinkovich is the Executive Director of the 10-year-old Eclipse Foundation, the non-profit organization that hosts, supports and cultivates Java based, C++ based, and PHP-based open source projects, including the BIRT Project co-founded by Actuate in 2004. Milinkovich serves on the board of the Open Source Initiative, and was formerly a vice president at Oracle as well as at WebGain.
Loie Maxwell (loiemaxwell), Chief Marketing Officer at Social Imprints, and advisor to several top consumer brands, brings to the panel the perspective of how consumer design and experiences are influencing user expectations for business apps, and how designers can create data-driven experiences that build brand love and loyalty. Most recently as VP of Creative at Starbucks, she led efforts to drive audience engagement with the Starbucks brand via a new content strategy, was instrumental in the launch into the India market, and led the brand launch of Evolution Fresh Juices and TAZO s first retail store.
