NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a thin iPad based kiosk that can be hung or mounted using simple interlocking metal cleat hangers. Up to twenty (20) kiosks shall be fabricated based on the approved design and verification, then acceptance of the first production kiosk. Quote should be factored in increments of five (5), up to total cost for twenty (20) kiosks. The technical specifications for this requirement are as follows: 1. Vendor shall provide preliminary sketches with their quote. 2. The prototype in the attached photos was fabricated using plexi-glass, but the vendor shall produce the production model out of metal that blends in with the existing exhibit which is a black matte finish. The finish and structural integrity shall be durable enough to withstand typical museum visitor traffic and interactions. If painted, the paint shall be scratch resistant. 3. The iPad shall be secured using security screws that are hidden from sight. The housing shall cover the iPad home button and camera. A hidden access point should allow a tool or probe to reach the on/off switch. The housing shall also provide access for the Apple HDMI adapter, and the audio plug, but be hidden from sight. 4. The prototypes specific dimensions shall not dictate the final dimensions of the design. However, the design shall account for the cables and connectors housed within the kiosk. All cables and connectors shall be inaccessible to the museum visitor. The cables include an audio cable, an Apple Lightning HDMI adaptor, an HDMI cable between the Apple adaptor and the display, as well as the iPad and display power cords. 5. The iPad mini screen cutout shall align with the viewable area, limiting access beyond that. The iPad mounting scheme shall hold the device securely in position. 6. Typical displays will be approximately 24 diagonal, and mounted directly to the kiosk using the VESA 100m x 100m mounting hole pattern and dimensions.
