BRIEF: Salem, Beverly fireworks postponed

July 03--SALEM -- Salem's fireworks celebration has been postponed to Sunday, July 6, because of the bad weather forecast.

Beverly's fireworks display at West Beach has also been postponed, but no new date has been set yet.

In Salem, all planned festivities originally scheduled for July 4 at Derby Wharf will still take place, but on Sunday instead. These include the Hillyer Festival Orchestra pops concert at 7:15 p.m. and the fireworks display, among other activities.

The reading of the Declaration of Independence, originally planned for 9 a.m. on July 4 on Salem Common will still take place, but has been relocated to inside the Hawthorne Hotel.

The U.S. Air Force Heritage Band, The Blue Aces, will still be performing their free concert on noon on Saturday, July 5, at Salem Willows.
