BRIEF: Looking for an old-time Fourth? Towns plan festivities

July 03--Meridian: Storey Park, 205 E. Franklin Road: 3 to 10:15 p.m., fun for children, live music (Zack Quintana3 p.m., The Oliphants 5:30 p.m., Simple Ruckus 7:30 p.m.), do-it-yourself fireworks. Fireworks show at 10:15 p.m.

Caldwell: 10 a.m. parade, ending at Memorial Park; after parade to 4 p.m., family activities, car and bike show, kids' zone, music; fireworks at dusk.

Eagle: Fireworks will be part of Eagle Fun Days, July 11 and 12.

Melba: Various sites, daylong events include 8 a.m. fun run, fly-over and parade at 10:30 a.m., antique tractor pull at noon, horseshoes at 1 p.m., chicken round-up at 3 p.m. and mud volleyball at 4 p.m. Dusk: Fireworks.

Boise Hawks, Memorial Stadium, 5600 N. Glenwood St.: 7:35 p.m. game followed by fireworks.

Boise: Kiwanis pancake breakfast, 7 to 11 a.m., Julia Davis Park; Downtown parade, 11 a.m.; chalk art, other Ann Morrison Park activities, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with fireworks at 10:15 p.m.
