June-end Banking Institutions Assets Exceeded CNY160trn

BEIJING, July 29, SinoCast -- Total assets of banking institutions in China exceeded CNY 160 trillion to CNY 162.95 trillion by the end of the first half of this year, growing 15.3% over the same period of a year earlier, according to CBRC.

Total assets of commercial banks hit CNY 126.91 trillion, growing 15% over a year earlier and accounting for 77.9% of banking institutions' total.

Total assets of joint-stock commercial banks reached CNY 30.18 trillion by the end of the first half of this year, growing 17% over a year earlier and accounting for 18.5% of banking institutions' total. Total assets of city commercial banks reached CNY 16.77 trillion, growing 23.4% and accounting for 10.3%. Total assets of rural financial institutions reached CNY 21.06 trillion, growing 18.6% and accounting for 12.9%. Total assets of other financial institutions reached CNY 27.69 trillion, growing 20.6% and accounting for 17.0%.
