PENINSULA, Ohio, July 29 -- The National Park Service'sCuyahoga Valley National Park issued the following news release:
Come and enjoy a spectacular musical ensemble of some of the area's top chamber musicians as a part of Music by Nature, a summer concert series in the splendid natural setting of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
A string quartet featuring flute, clarinet, and harp, Cuyahoga Valley Chamber Players brings sophisticated beauty and grace to a summer evening. This opulent concert features "A Night Piece" by Arthur Foote, Mozart's classic "Clarinet Quintet," and the hauntingly beautiful "Introduction and Allegro" by Maurice Ravel.
This Music by Nature performance features Jody Guinn, harpist with the Akron Symphony and Cleveland Orchestras, Jane Berkner, flute professor at the University of Akron and Amitai Vardi, clarinet professor at Kent State University along with a string quartet comprised of principal string players from the Akron Symphony, violinists Alan Bodman and Linda Nagy Johnston, violist Ann Cirvencic and cellist Miles Richardson.
The performance is on Sunday evening, August 3rd. Music begins at 6:30 p.m. at Happy Days Lodge, 500 West Streetsboro Road (Route 303) in Peninsula, Ohio. Grounds open at 5:00 p.m., and patrons are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy before the concert.
Patrons are also invited to mingle with the musicians after the concert at a dessert reception. Convenient, free parking is available near the concert site.
