Brookfield Multiplex to Deliver the Iconic Helix

Release date- 25072014 - Brookfield Multiplex has been appointed by Essential Living as delivery partner for the Helix.

Situated on the edge of the Canary Wharf Estate, the Helix will provide an iconic design for a prominent site.

The two elliptical towers will provide a total of 395 apartments and have been specifically designed to cater for the newly emerging private residential rental market in London.

The Eastern Tower extends to 35 storeys and The Western Tower to 29 storeys in height and will be linked by 'wish bone' structures at levels 6 and 21. The Helix will have a full range of on-site resident's facilities including roof top communal terraces, fitness centre, resident's bike store, restaurant facilities and children's play area.

Ray Theakston, Construction Director at Essential Living, said: 'Ensuring quality throughout the development process has been our top priority - we're building and managing homes for long term-rent, and that means they have to still look and function perfectly ten years down the line. Brookfield Multiplex shares our values and objectives, and we're extremely excited to be working with them on such a landmark project.'

The Helix is designed to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 and will comply with the requirements of Lifetime Homes. Demolition of an existing retail facility is scheduled to commence in Q4 2014 with the towers construction following in Q1 2015. The Helix Tower development is the first appointment as part of a framework agreement that Brookfield Multiplex will deliver for Essential Living in Greater London.
