2013-end Assets under Trusteeship of Banks Totaled CNY35trn

BEIJING, July 29, SinoCast -- Total assets under the trusteeship of 18 commercial banks in China reached CNY 34.98 trillion by the end of 2013, growing 56.23% over a year earlier, according to China Banking Association.

Newly-added assets under the trusteeship of the banks totaled CNY 12.59 trillion in 2013; quarterly-added assets under the trusteeship of the banks totaled CNY 3.15 trillion, growing about 11.82% quarter on quarter.

By the end of the first quarter of 2014, total assets under the trusteeship of Chinese banks reached CNY 38.5 trillion, growing 52% over a year earlier.

At the beginning of 2009, total assets under the trusteeship of Chinese banks reached CNY 3.75 trillion only and surging more than nine times in more than five years from 2009 to the first quarter of 2014.

The deposit-to-trusteeship ratio grew to 23.75% by the end of 2012 from 17.12% at the end of 2011 and re-grew to 32.67% by the end of 2013, while the deposit-to-trusteeship ratio can reach above 100% in foreign countries, marking the Chinese trusteeship business market has a huge development potential.
