LONDON (Alliance News) - C A Sperati PLC Monday said it swung to a pretax profit in the first half of its financial year, as it booked an exceptional gain from the disposal of its freehold premises.

The buttons and bows merchant posted a pretax profit of GBP200,832 for the six months ended April 30, from a pretax loss of GBP133,163 the previous year.

The company, which moved from the main market of the London Stock Exchange to AIM in March, said its revenues fell 5.9% in the six months to GBP88,891, from GBP94,447, due to challenging economic conditions.

However, Sperati said it booked a GBP350,073 exceptional gain on the disposal of certain freehold premises, leading to the pretax profit.

C A Sperati shares closed untraded at 4.25 pence on Monday.
