Tokyo stocks open slightly lower after rallies last week

Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower Monday as investors locked in gains posted last week.

In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 15.07 points, or 0.10 percent, from Friday to 15,442.80. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.49 point, or 0.04 percent, to 1,280.86.

Major decliners included pulp and paper, construction, as well as textile shares.
