Net Medical Xpress Shares Telemedicine Grant With University of New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. , United States, via eTeligis Inc., 07/25/2014 - - Net Medical Xpress Solutions, Inc.(OTCQB: NMXS) announced today that it is participating in a $15.1 million federal grant with the University of New Mexico Health Science Center to establish a statewide 30 hospital telemedicine network to support critical cerebral emergency support services.



The grant was awarded by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to help CMS study the impact of providing telemedicine for critical care services in rural areas.The project calls for the university to form a statewide 30-hospitaltelehealthsystem (THS) in conjunction with Net Medical Xpress Solutions for a three-year period. The program will provide remote emergency neurological consultations using video conferencing equipment and Net Medical's telemedicine management services. The added goal of the model is to maintain patient care in the local facility without needing patient transport to tertiary care hospitals when non-operative care is appropriate.

We have been supporting the university's neurology department since 2005 when we created the first stroke communications program for New Mexico hospitals.With this grant, we will provide the hospitals in the state with the world's most advanced technology for audio/video transmission, neurological programming and UNM world class neurology services thereby eliminating the high stress impact in the emergency room when patients arrive with severe neurological trauma."
