Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani Youth to Perform in 'Sea2Sea' Dance Competition in Batumi

TBILISI, Georgia, July 24 -- The U.S. Embassy issued the following news release:

On July 25, 30 young dancers from Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan will perform in Batumi's Summer Theater as part of the "Sea2Sea" Street Dance Competition. Sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi and the Ministry of Youth and Sport'sChildren and Youth Development Fund, "Sea2Sea" is a cultural program that has brought together top youth street dancers in the region to train with the American dance group "Soul Street" for one week, before performing with them at a final show in Batumi on July 25. The intensive dance workshop includes opportunities for the youth participants to learn about leadership and community service. The dancers were encouraged to perform a wide array of dance styles, including hip-hop, break dancing, locking, popping, and modern ballet.
