July 25, 2014

By Peter Cameron, The Times-Tribune, Scranton, Pa.

July 25--JESSUP -- Police are seeking information about a person who cloned a credit card and have been using it to rack up purchases in the region.

Jessup police learned of the theft after a borough resident reported the unauthorized charges Tuesday, Chief Joseph Walsh said.

The thief possibly ran up thousands of dollars in charges on the cloned card, he said. Cloned cards are made with someone else's credit card information.

A video taken Tuesday at Peeble's department store in Covington Twp. showed a woman trying to make a purchase with the card and being rejected.
