United States : XILINX invests in XMOS

Globe s top FPGA vendor Xilinx has made investment in XMOS, a MCU semiconductor maker.

According to XMOS, it also secured investment from Robert Bosch Venture Capital GmbH of Germany, Huawei Technologies.

The combined worth of the investment from all these firms is $26.2m.

Each of these important new partners will bring major strategic value alongside their significant financial investment in the business. This will help us in our mission to build XMOS into a major fabless semiconductor company, said Nigel Toon, CEO at XMOS.

The investment from a MEMS sensor, Telecommunication, and programmable silicon firms into XMOS specifies, quite a good mix of strategic group creation for the fast emerging markets of m2m and IoT.

Dr. Hongquan Jiang from Robert Bosch is said to be joining the XMOS Board of Directors.
