Parkview Medical Center Chooses PatientSafe Solutions' Emma System for Clinical Communications

PatientSafe Solutions reported that Parkview Medical Center has selected the Emma system to further improve clinical communication, care and efficiency across the organization.

The Company said that the system, which includes voice and HIPAA- compliant messaging capabilities, streamlines workflow and eliminates the need for caregivers to carry multiple devices.

In its release, PatientSafe Solutions noted that Emma integrates with the PatientTouch handhelds, which are smartphone-based devices, the hospital already uses. The system operates on Apple iOS, and it facilitates contextual care team communication and collaboration through voice-over-IP (VoIP) and patient-centric messaging.

As described by PatientSafe Solutions: The Emma system consolidates alerts, notifications and text/image/audio communications, improving clinical workflow through real-time access to the care team, patient information and critical clinical data. Users no longer need an additional device for voice communications due to Emma's VoIP functionality, and they can now securely text message other caregivers, much like they would on their personal phone.
