Northey to Visit Fairs in Hamilton, Wayne, Appanoose, Plymouth and Emmet Counties on July 23-25

DES MOINES, Iowa, July 22 -- The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship issued the following news release: Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting county fairs in Hamilton, Wayne, Appanoose, Plymouth and Emmet Counties from July 23 to 25. Northey will also participate in a tractor ride from Hardin to Grundy County on Wednesday, July 23.

On Wednesday Northey will visit the Hamilton County fair in Webster City and participate in the tractor ride from Eldora to Grundy Center. On Thursday he will attend the Wayne and Appanoose county fairs in Corydon and Centerville. On Friday he will visit the Plymouth and Emmet county fairs in Le Mars and Estherville.

Hamilton County - 11:15 a.m., visit the Hamilton County Fair, 1200 Bluff St., Webster City

Hardin County - 12:00 p.m., participate in tractor ride, leaves from the Hardin County Museum, 203 N. Washington St., Eldora

Grundy County - 4:30 p.m., tractor ride meet and greet, Grundy Center Fairgrounds, 1308 4th St., Grundy Center

Wayne County - 10:30 a.m., visit the Wayne County Fair, 800 2nd Ave., Corydon

Appanoose County - 12:00 p.m., visit the Appanoose County Fair, 701 W. Franklin St., Centerville

Friday, July 25, 2014

Plymouth County - 11:00 a.m., visit the Plymouth County Fair and the new "a ROUND the farm in the BARN" exhibit, 500 4th Ave., NE, Le Mars

Emmet County - 2:30 p.m., visit the Emmet County Fair, 1600 3rd Ave., S., Estherville

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
